Planets in Universim are not simply made up of a pile of beautifully arranged objects; all objects are interconnected and play a vital role in the ecosystem of each planet. Every tree that is chopped down, every resource that is extracted, and every animal that is hunted affects the world in which the Nuggets live. An insufficient number of animals and massive pollution will gradually lead to a Global temperature increase, while constant hunting and fishing will lead to the extinction of various species. Your mission is to guide the Nuggets and how they gather and use their resources. What mark will you leave on an ecosystem that existed for a million years before your arrival? Will you quickly consume all available resources at the expense of the planet, or will you take a strategic approach to developing your civilization?

In The Universim, nature is just as beautiful and unpredictable as ever. Each planet holds several surprises that are sure to challenge your civilization in unexpected ways. The day and night cycle can play an important role in the development of your civilization. You should not only beware of wild animal attacks, as predators come out to hunt at night, but also the sharp drops in air temperature. During the day it is only slightly safer in this cruel world. Combined with the changing of seasons, the planet's biomes can transform beyond recognition, forcing the Nuggets to learn how to survive the harsh winter, even if they do not have enough time to prepare.
