Description
Multitouch (formerly TouchOven) binds a customizable action to your Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse on Mac. For example, a three-finger click can perform a paste command. Enhance your daily workflow by utilizing keyboard shortcuts, managing browser tabs, performing a middle mouse button click, and much more.
Recording Keystrokes or Pasting Text in the Multitouch App Mac
Sometimes you encounter tedious tasks that require you to simply type the same text into a bunch of different places, and copying and pasting just isn't quite enough. Now in the multitouch app mac there are two options that can help you out: keystroke recording and text pasting. Both of these options can be bound to a gesture or a keyboard shortcut on your Mac.
If you have already used this application before, setting up either of them should be fairly straightforward. Both of them can be selected under the "Keyboard Shortcut & Key Input" category. For keystroke recording, start by selecting the text field that appears, and then type your keystrokes on the keyboard. For "Paste Text," simply place the desired text into the text field area.
A few things you need to know about keystroke recording:
When entering keystrokes, you simply need to be aware that this is not a regular text input — it will record every single key press, including the delete or backspace key.
In addition, modifier flags are recorded even if you do not see them displayed in the text field area. This means that it can act as a kind of compound keyboard shortcut recorder, although that is not its intended purpose. It is also worth keeping in mind that the recorded keystrokes will be played back without any time delay, regardless of how much time you originally spent entering those keystrokes. If you perform the configured gesture or shortcut for the keystroke recorder when using multitouch mac, you will notice that all keystrokes are played back sequentially one after another, rather than all at once. You can download multitouch to experience all of these powerful input automation features on your Mac.
